Martifer Group

Martifer operates in 10 countries, has around 1,700 employees and industrial units in 4 countries, with capacity to produce over 32,000 tonnes of steel structure per year. Its steel structures plant in Oliveira de Frades has a hall able to build 100 wind towers a year.

The West Sea shipyard in Viana do Castelo builds, converts and repairs vessels of up to 37,000 tonnes and 190 metres in length. It built the World Explorer, the first polar expedition ship made in Portugal.

The East Wing of Geneva Airport won it the Portugal Steel Design Awards 2021 and the European Steel Design Awards (ECCS). For the EDP headquarters in Lisbon (Secil Architecture Prize 2020) it developed a bespoke façade system.
